The Highlands is one of my favorite golf courses in the Chicagoland area. I wish I lived closer. We played it on a Sunday afternoon the cost for cart and golf was reasonable. The course was in excellent shape considering it had rained so much in the previous week. Even the traps were well maintained. I love the risk reward opportunities on this course. The designers are to be commended. If they got rid of the mats on the driving range it would be a five-star course.

Loved playing here. Open landscapes but difficult terrain. Drastic changes in elevation, bunker placement, and open valleys all come to play over other courses with many trees. This was a joy to play although the Bee's were quite bad. Will definitely play again.

The course was pretty great besides a few quirky holes. Played on an extremely windy day, which made it a very hard course to play as it is links style. The only complaint was all the staff we ran into was rude and unfriendly, almost like we were unwelcome. Kind of a weird feeling for an expensive municipal course, that left a bad taste in my mouth. Probably won’t be back bc of it.

Course was in very good shape. The course is laid out to be fair and at the same time, very challenging . I used every club in my bag. Plan on playing more at Highlands next year.

Not bad course but a little pricey and you need to ask for any discounts they do not offer up anything at counter. Also $5 for a 16oz Arnold Palmer is absurd

For me it's a challenging course, plenty of sandtraps, high grass, tall marshes with water to deal with. Unfortunately, the biggest difficulty there are the hundreds of devits on the fairways and ball marks left on the greens by lazy inconsiderate players.

The only thing better than the course is the pro shop and restaurant staff. David runs a great team, highly recommend going to him for organizing a golf outing
